pretty good for a beginner! I started teaching myself last week after years and years of [guilty pleasure] watching cookie decorating videos on gram. excited to keep practicing, learning so much along the way. the recipe is @sweetsugarbelle and the sugar lips cutter is via my fave cookier @hol_fox 💕

happiest of birthdays to this super hot stud muffin of a dada who I hope my son turns out just like! while i know you hope he inherits your insane athletic abilities in every single sport, (side note: y’all this man is planning to put my son in all the sports he excelled in as a child: basketball, baseball, soccer and karate) I hope you pass down all my favorite qualities about you: your patience, your bod (wait- that’s not a quality) your warm energy and kind demeanor when someone first meets you - you never meet a stranger, your integrity proceeds you, you are so thoughtful when it comes to gift-giving, you are so helpful and giving of your time (I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard you’re one of the nicest people everyone has met) you have a way of making people laugh, but overall you have the biggest heart of anyone I know, so basically you are the best example one could ever have as a papa! I’m in awe of you, and lucky me to be near such a dear person. you are so loved. happy birthday loverboy ❤️

one year today post-op for this little angel, who was one month and one day old when he had his cleft craniofacial surgery. this diagnosis caused us a lot of distress for the majority of my pregnancy, but looking back at the entire process of correction and healing for this strong little boy, it seemingly went by so quick. i had no idea how I would feel about his birth defect when he was born (so much in addition to all other new feelings on becoming a mom) but the night before his surgery, I remember crying because I just loved his little face so much, and I knew after tomorrow it would be forever different. and now, reflecting on everything one year later, I wouldn’t change anything about this journey and the honor of raising this blessed little boy was bestowed upon me and Jake and i don’t take any of that for granted every single day. #cleftstrong

this screengrab just cracks me up. so blessed B E Y O N D to do work along side this funny guy for the past 7 years. we have been beyond blessed by the support of our community and the opportunity to create content that is thoughtful, educational, and fun. this 8th year of @feastoffiction will by far be one for the BOOKS as one of my legit dreams come true is finally coming to fruition. THE REAL BREAKING NEWS: we are officially locked and loaded with our publisher on the creation of our (first) cookbook! ❤️ freaking still beyond surreal. 2019 is truly starting off on the right page. Who wants to come to the bookstore with me in April 2020? (don’t mind me- I’ll be the one balling my eyes out of joy and excitement, probably chugging champs.) so who’s in...you? cool. bring the tissues! I’ll bring the bubbly. 🥂
so beyond obsessed with this guy and everything that encompasses being his mom. closing out the year in celebration of this little being who taught me so much this year about myself. I believe this little guy is the keeper of many life lessons and it’s just the beginning. 2018, you were a goodie. this year was the O N E.
